I often get questions from prospective clients about how we can work together and how to get started. Below, I’ve outlined some of my frequently asked questions for your clarity and ease of mind. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1.When is the best time to take newborn photos?
A baby will only be new once, which is one of the reason that newborn photos are so important to capture. Typically, newborn photos are done within the first 8-14 days of a baby’s life. So my recommendation is that the newborn shoot should take place when they are 8-12 days new. Looking back, the biggest thing I hear from second-time parents is that they regret not getting newborn photos done when they had the chance so don’t miss out on the opportunity. Due to our extremely busy schedule and the time sensitive nature of the newborn session we highly recommend to pre-book your baby’s session way before your expected due date.
2.Why should I invest in newborn photos?
Although getting pictures done so soon after your baby’s birth may be the farthest thing from your mind, photos truly do appreciate with time. As a photographer, my job is to not only capture those moments, but to make them so timeless that when you pass by that image many years later, it will still remind you of just how precious and small your baby was. I might be biased, but I truly believe there is not better investment in your child’s memories than their newborn photos. Your baby will adore looking back at how small they were and you will forever cherish these priceless memories.
3.Why doesn’t your booking fee include the digital images?
There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes of a photography session. I need hands to assist me in prepping your child, and to ensure that safety precautions are met. The session takes hours in the studio, plus all the post production editing that occurs to bring your photos to life. Editing one photo can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours to complete, and we want to make sure that attention to detail is met with every photo that comes out of our studio. Therefore, due to the time, labour and post production work, as well as your pre session consultation and an in person selection appointment, the booking fee covers this customized process only.
Once booking fee is paid, your selection and payment are fully customizable and will depend on your how many images you have selected, what you choose to do with your beautiful portraits and your budget.
We do not have a minimum order requirement, which makes your selection process easy and pleasant.
Please contact us for package options, it will be our absolute pleasure to go over all details and pricing as well as answer any questions you might have for us.
This is an important decision and we want you to be fully comfortable with your choice!
4.What do I need to bring?
For your new bundle you will need to bring food and diapers as well as a few receiving blankets.
All props, accessories, backdrops and more will be supplied by our studio for your session. We want this to be a worry free experience for you and we made sure to think it through on your behalf. Your only take is to pre book your session and meet us at the studio on the day of your shoot:)
My clients will occasionally bring a sentimental object that they would like to incorporate into the shoot, but this isn’t necessary. I also work with some incredible partners such as bakers, custom made children’s clothiers and makeup artists, in case you need some resources.
5.What else do you offer?
We pride ourselves in our state of the art beautiful products such as photo albums, heirloom canvas prints, gallery wraps and more. Following your session, I can visit with you at your home, go through all the images, and help you select what images would look best, and where they can be displayed in your home. My clients think of me as a baby whisperer that creates and preserves memories to last a lifetime as well as custom wall art decorator for your home:) I am happy I can be of service to my amazing clients and be of assistance with such indispensable engagements.
